From Stone to Strength EVENN | אבן – Father. Son. One Stone.
In Hebrew, Evenn means stone. But the word itself holds a deeper message: its letters—Aleph, Bet, Nun—spell Av and Ben. Father and son. Together in one word. One foundation. One legacy. But legacy is not limited to sons alone. For every Ben, there has been a Bat—a daughter. For every generation, a future is built not only by names, but by neshamot. Today, that legacy is carried forward by sons and daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren—each one a living stone in the sacred structure we continue to build.
The Voice That Continues
This year, House of Israel marks a profound milestone: Forty years since the passing of our beloved, legendary rabbi, and forty years of devoted leadership by his son. Together, that’s eighty years of strength, service, and spirit. This is more than a tribute. It’s a celebration of a legacy that lives on—through every tefillah, every shiur, every family who calls this shul home. This campaign is our moment to reflect, to honor, and to invest in what’s next. To do more than remember. To carry forward.
One Shul. All of Us.
Today, House of Israel is more than a synagogue. It’s the spiritual Kotel of Quebec—a place where Sephardic, Ashkenazic, and people from all backgrounds are welcome and embraced and come together in unity.
It is a synagogue of belonging. A spiritual home for every Jewish soul.
We invite you to be part of this celebration. To honor eighty years of continuous leadership. To give in tribute to the past—and in commitment to the future. Together, we can strengthen this home for the next generation and beyond. Give in honor. Give in memory. Give for your children and theirs. Be part of the voice. Be part of the future. Be part of House of Israel.
